C-Monster has posted a link to a shop that is selling Damien Hirst knock-offs, for $24.99. It’s still a rip-off at that price, but at least Hirst’s art is finding its rightful place. Someone at Z Gallerie must have read my blog post two months ago where I claimed Hirst’s “For the Love of God” belonged in Spencer’s Gift Shop. Now it has happened, sort of. It’s not quite Spencer’s Gifts Shop, but Z Gallerie is a place to get trinkets and baubles for the home that no one really needs. People are always stealing my ideas, or better said, putting them into production. It’s always been that way. When I was ten years old I and a neighborhood friend took a drawing class together, and we each drew a picture of a seagull. Mine was better, but my friend’s mother matted and framed his picture and put it into a drawing competition where he won second place and received a nifty blue ribbon. Who knows where my seagull drawing is now?
